E. Riou, too, on his first cruise, was assigned to the "Resolution", in the third voyage of Cook in the Pacific.

And he, too, as Bligh and other young officers, learned to draw on board, under the guidance of more experienced officers, who made a name for themselves in the history of exploration and hydrography.
