Telescope

This constellation was introduced in the southern sky, south of Sagittarius (the Archer), by N.-L. de Lacaille in 1752, in honor of the major astromical instrument, which contributed so much to the development of this science.

It includes about fifty stars visible to the naked eye, of which the brightest (a telescope) is of magnitude 3.8.
