Riding the wave

Often, since the sixteenth century, appears in the stern figure of a lion, a symbol of strength and courage. The oldest that is received is the figurehead of the "Wasa", the flagship of the King of Sweden, sank in 1628 and restored in 1961, now beautifully restored and placed into the museum. The above drawing is the figurehead of a boat eighteenth-century English: As for all the warships of several countries, the lion's head bears the crown.
